Shimelle's scrapbook weekend Challenge #16 - Use up your scraps :D

I had a great time at shimelle's scrapbook weekend and I also sign up for her new workshop with the early birds discount! I'm so excited because may is my holidays and i can have so much fun with the workshop without worrying my school work :D

The last challenge is to use up our scraps :D

I didnt do lotsa layout over the weekend, so didnt use the scraps left over from this project. Instead, I when through my stash and found some older Crate paper collection that i still have lotsa scraps left in the package. I even leave behind the 'title strip' (not sure what you call them, haha). So here i used scraps from about 4 crate paper collection all mixed in. for strips, i stick them onto the back of the small stack of papers. For squarish scraps, as small as 1 by 1.5 inches, i use the jenni bowlin/ fiskars tab punch and the MS butterfly punch ( both are my favourite punches! )

This layout is about my sister, yes and she is a little crazy, haha, crazy in the sense, jokes alot. Sometimes too much.

Thanks for looking :D Till next time!

Shimelle's Scrapbook weekend Challenge 04 - Colour challenge

Made used of this sketch
And the colour combination of Yellow, grey and PINK
Here is what i have created :)

Used lotsa twines, love twines hehe
and get some die cutes from amy tangerine collection
the camera, pins and typewriter is hand cut
from one of the awesome 12x12 pattern paper
i have them all cut down to be kept with the amy tangerine die cut pack
I wish i had bought more ><

The pocket from smash include the photos of the food we had there

Love the Jenni bowlin bingo pages :)

Thanks for looking!

Shimelle's Scrapbook Challenge 02 and CSI case file #15

Using this colour scheme

And the challenge of mixing up papers
I get this layout :)

It's quite an interest process
because at first i didnt know what to come up with
i have been following starting points/sketch closely lately
but den i started cutting strips of the pattern paper i picked
and place them on my layout
and yay! i think i get a good mix :)

I used the papers from October afternoon (Sasparilla)
Heidi Swapp (no limits)
Amy Tangerine older collection
Simple stories Life documented bingo paper

I added some Chevron stamps from paper smoochies
And the clear tapes from KI memories (if i didnt recall wrongly)
And bakers twines

Added more washi tapes :)
and the negative of the punched notebook edge

Used the new hambly studio prints
and used a clear pop dot at the back
see the chevron pattern's shadow at the backgrd?
hehe i love that

Journaling at the bottom (hehe forgot to add before taking pictures )
This Journaling is secret! shhh! :p

Instead of having a page torn from an old book
(i dont really have one )
i used Hero Arts friends definition background stamps
and stamped onto a piece of white cardstock
with stazon ink and wait for it to dry
afterwhich i used distress ink in Antique Linen and Vintage photo
to link the cardstock to make it look like a page from an old dictionary
(just a sudden realisation, i dont think dictionary are on spiral binding
; ahh nevermind that , haha)

Thanks for looking:D

ColorCombosGalore #225 challenge and Shimelle's Scrapbook weekend challenge 01

Scraplifting from Jamie's layout

Adding colours from this challenge from Colorcombosgalore

And here is what i get!
I'm taking little bits and pieces of inspiration from Jamie's layout

I took the ideas of adding cloud accents
 (here i used hambly screen)
And the idea of having the flag/banner like ends to papper
and little bits and piecs of flowers and butterfly
(i used butterflies and wooden buttons from prima)

I like how it turns out :)
This layout is very impt to me
because i document two adorable kids i know
when i'm over at nz
and i really really miss them

I wish to see them soon :D

Washi Tape Madness!

Confession time

I have 110 rolls of washi tapes!

 Yes, you heard me right,
110 rolls!

Here is how i store them
the top 2 plastic boxes are from Daiso
and they are perfect because i can store about 34 rolls in each
and still able to see the design of each rolls
the bottom 2 baskets are temporary storage

Here is a layout i done entirely using washi tape
it's so fun to play with
the colors just cheer me up :D

______________________________________________________

I also use washi tapes for making embellishments
Here is one eg

I stick the washi tape to some white cardstocks

Cut them apart

cut a small triangle shape off the end

Yeah! I have my washi taped banners as embellishments
that i can use for my cards or scrapbook pages

You may share your washi-perience with me too!
Thanks for stopping by!

Shimelle's scrapbook weekend - how I store my thickers :)

I happen to have these photo on my iPhone so i though I could share it with you all :) this is how I store my thickers . It's a plastic basket from Popular bookstore ( it's a bookstore in Singapore) and it fits the 6 inches thickers just right . At the side I can also put in 12x12 alpha stickers from prima and Lilybee :)

I sort them by type - fabric / foam / puffy / chipboard etc :) Amy tangerine 's thickers have it's own section! Probably cos I collected too much of them haha .

This work well for me so far . Like shimelle says , it depends on what system works best for you. I happen to be the kind of person who look for the designs / texture rather than colour first . After I have the design right then I will look for the right colour :)

Thanks for looking !:)

Shimelle's starting point and CSI case file #14

Ok i'm lying to myself when i mention i will stop scrapping!
Because all the art supply is just around me and i couldnt help myself !!
I did one simple layout this evening after dinner

I love the pink and kraft and brown and beige comes together so well :)
and here is my take

Firstly , i splatter some acrylic paint mixed with water on a diagnoal line
Then i flick some Mister Huey grey mist on the largest pink paper

As usual, I inked up all the edges of my paper, and also stickers.
I cut the webster pages netting into strips
and used beacon glue to stick it down.
as i stick it down , i fold it to create the ruffles effect

I also used versamark ink and this set of stamps
from MME Follow your heart
to add a little interest to the plain kraft cardstocks.
Also, i used the sentiments stamps
"happy", "rejoyce" and 'Love"
 with black stazon ink

Supplies:
 paper
AC Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection,
EP This and That Graceful,
MME Be Happy
and also other assorted
 Fancy Pants and MME paper

I used the Neapolitan collection sticker book
to add some stickers here and there
